Note worthy history on Add-A-Ball Pinball Machines.
Flipper Cowboy is an Add-A-Ball Pinball Machine.
In the early days of pinball, law enforcement believed that pinball machines could be viewed as a gambling device by awarding replays (free games). Thus pinball manufactures came out with Add-A-Ball Pinball Machines such as Flipper Cowboy, to where the player is awarded additional balls to play…as opposed to free games.
Objective to Flipper Cowboy game play is as follows:
At start of game, all top lanes are lit and numbers 1 through 7 on the lower playfield are off. Completing yellow and white top lanes awards 1 extra ball. Hitting 4 adjacent roto target numbers (1 through 7) awards an extra ball. Scoring 2000 points awards 1 extra ball, scoring 4000 points awards 1 extra ball.
In addition to the great game play. Flipper Cowboy is most famous for it’s backbox animation.
– Each time an Extra Ball is earned the Cowboy in the backglass shoots the target and it spins.
This 1962 classic pinball is in great condition all around. Exterior chrome has been polished to a high shine. New lockbar end caps and flipper buttons installed.
